At Liverpool, Goncalo Inacio is emerging as the next Nabil Fekir.
The Reds have been linked to a move for Fekir for years, and with each passing transfer window, Inacio appears to have assumed the position of the perennial Liverpool target that has not yet come to pass.
Fabrizio Romano has been discussing the £55 million player on Kick after learning rumors that the Merseyside club is nearing a deal to acquire the center-back.
Romano claims that although Liverpool has looked at Inacio, these rumors are unfounded and that we hear similar stories every summer from the same source most of the time.
Liverpool is not close to Inacio.
Romano revealed the information he has regarding the defender.
“Little Inacio to Gonzalo? For the past three or four years, there has been a rumor that Liverpool is in talks to sign Inacio. However, the individual who first connected Inacio to Liverpool is generally the same one. They have been scouting this kid for a while, but as of right now, I’m not aware of any changes, Romano stated.
The season of silliness
This is the thing that makes the transfer window so annoying at times.
Some players are just so natural at linking moves together, and Inacio to Liverpool fits that description perfectly.
In addition to being a youthful defender who fits Liverpool’s philosophy, he also has a release clause.
As we’ve seen, the Reds frequently employ a release clause to avoid having to engage in laborious talks, so it’s simple to add Inacio to the mix and make five.
As Romano points out, Inacio is a player that Liverpool has been watching for a while. Although a move to Anfield doesn’t appear to be imminent, it is still possible that Inacio will make a move in the future.
