Football Insider reported on Saturday, January 6, that the 27-year-old has “said yes” to Spurs’ offer.

The last rounds of negotiations between Tottenham and Leipzig are currently underway as Ange Postecoglou’s team approaches an early-window deal for Werner.
It is thought that the initial loan is the focus of the talks, with a buy option serving as the primary source of disagreement at the moment.

Football Insider has been informed by a reliable source that the two teams are in talks over a loan with a buyout option valued at approximately £30 million.

After Harry Kane’s summer exit, Tottenham failed to replace him with an all-around striker, and now they are without Heung-min Son as he is away at the Asian Games.

However, Spurs will now likely defeat numerous other Premier League suitors for Werner, as Man United, Liverpool, Newcastle, and Aston Villa are all keeping an eye on him.Werner expected to undergo Tottenham medical as '£30m' deal finalised

He is ready to depart from the Leipzig training camp and proceed to Tottenham for a medical examination.

The former Chelsea player, who won the Champions League while he was a player at Stamford Bridge, has only scored twice in 14 games this season for Leipzig, and he has only started four of those games.

Before departing in 2022, he played 89 games for the Blues and recorded 23 goals and 21 assists.

In other news, Tottenham is in talks to sign an England player, with the price tag disclosed. After 20 Premier League games this season, Tottenham rank fifth in the league. If a deal is finalized as anticipated, Werner may make his Spurs debut away at Man United next week (January 14).
