The best quarterbacks and the next set of quarterbacks are clearly separated, according to recent Senior Bowl analysis and revised mock drafts. Perhaps the latter group is the one the Vikings should be focusing on?
Following the Senior Bowl, Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. was predicted to be selected in the second round of the draft.
PRESERVEPARTNER
Despite having made eighteen selections in the top 10 in NFL history, the Vikings have never selected a quarterback with that high of a pick.
It’s easy to believe that things will alter in this year. Although the Vikings are currently positioned just outside of the top 10 with the No. 11 pick, some speculate that they may attempt to take a large risk and move up to acquire Kirk Cousins’ replacement.
As I’ve already said, the issue with that is that this year, three quarterbacks are seen as deserving of top-10 selections, and the top three teams

Although the Vikings have made eighteen selections in the top 10 of the NFL Draft, they have never selected a quarterback with a pick that high.
It is easy to believe that this year will be different. There is a school of thinking that suggests the Vikings might try to make a big swing and move up to get Kirk Cousins’ replacement, even though they currently own the No. 11 pick, which is just outside the top 10.
As I have previously noted, the issue with that is that this year, three quarterbacks are thought to be worthy of top-10 picks, and the three clubs at the top
All the people I spoke with at the Senior Bowl predicted that the Bears will choose Williams with the first overall pick and then trade quarterback Justin Fields for a package that might include a second-round selection. In addition, if I were General Manager Ryan Poles, I would act similarly. With exceptional arm strength, outstanding field vision, and a natural ability to make plays both inside and outside the pocket, Williams is a special quarterback prospect. In his career, he has thrown 93 touchdowns and only 14 interceptions.
Fields has improved, but Williams can still be one of the top three quarterbacks in the NFL. That is too good to ignore for the Bears, who have ranked 24th in QBR (45.1) since choosing Fields in 2021.
