Done Deal: The clemson football and Dallas have agreed to a contract of $55.6 million
In the Gator Bowl back on December 29, 2023, Ray Davis and the Kentucky Wildcats took against junior running back Will Shipley and the Clemson Tigers. In their final collegiate game, two of the top running backs in the 2024 NFL Draft class squared battle.
The only other player to score a touchdown was Davis, who also had four receptions for six yards and ran 13 times for 63 yards. Shipley finished with 132 all-purpose yards after rushing 11 times for 29 yards and catching two catches for nine more. He also added 94 yards from kickoff returns. Most significantly, Clemson prevailed 38-35, at least for Shipley.
Shipley announced that he planned to enter the 2024 NFL Draft five days after the Gator Bowl. He wrote the following to Clemson supporters:
“I want to thank the Clemson family for everything. The best choice I’ve ever made is to enroll at Clemson University. My time at Clemson has given me connections and advantages that will last a lifetime, the self-assurance to succeed in anything I do, and an appreciation for a level of excellence. I’ve made the decision to put my name up for the 2024 NFL Draft. I am appreciative of the previous three years and eager to explore what is ahead. I’m moving on to new adventures, but I’ll always be a Clemson Tiger!
