Done Deal: The Bulldogs and Dallas have agreed to a contract worth $62.7 million.
The Panthers have announced gun centre Izack Tago has signed a contract extension that will see him remain at the foot of the mountain until at least the end of 2028.
The 21-year-old has already won two premierships with Penrith, coming through the club’s ranks before playing 49 NRL games to date.
Tago has also played three Tests for Samoa and his 50th appearance will come in the Panthers’ derby clash against the Eels in Round 2.
I’m extremely happy to re-sign with the club. Even though I was already signed here for a couple of years, it’s great to lock in my future at my home club for another few years,” Tago said in a club statement.
“Most of the team are Panthers juniors and we’ve all got a special relationship, so for me to stay here for as long as I can is something I’m excited about.”
Meanwhile, Panthers general manager Shane Elford was excited to see another junior commit his future to the club.
“Izack’s progression is another great example of the build from within mantra of our club. He has come through our junior development system and progressed to the highest level of playing for country,” he said in a statement.
“We’re delighted that he has shown his commitment to the Panthers by re-signing with the club.”
Tago’s new contract is reportedly worth around $750,000 per-season according to WWOS, making him one of the NRL highest-paid centres.
BULLDOGS EXTEND KING, SIGN SOUTHS ENFORCER
The Bulldogs have bolstered their forwards stocks by extending Max King and signing prop Daniel Suluka-Fifita effective immediately following his mutual release by the Rabbitohs.
There were reports earlier in the year that King had attracted attention from at least three rival teams, with his previous contract expiring at the end of the 2024 season.
However, the Bulldogs confirmed on Wednesday that King had extended until the end of the 2027 season.
Suluka-Fifita, meanwhile, signed a two-year deal with General Manager of Football Phil Gould saying in a club statement that the prop would add great depth to their forward pack.AAAAA
