TRAGEDY: Minnesotag Vikings Ladies coach is very angry and he has taken immediate resignation……
EAGAN, Minn. – The Vikings are adding experience and versatility to their offensive line.
Minnesota reached an agreement with guard/center Dan Feeney, the team announced Friday.
Feeney has appeared in 112 NFL games with 65 starts. Most recently, he appeared in 16 games for the Bears, making one start in 2023.
Feeney, who will turn 30 in May, originally was a 2017 NFL Draft selection by the Chargers. Heading into that year’s draft, he was labeled “the best interior offensive lineman” prospect by NFL analyst Lance Zierlein. The Chargers snagged Feeney in the third round, and he went on to start 57 of 63 games over his first four seasons with Los Angeles, missing just one contest in that time.
Feeney helped the Chargers average 111.5 rushing yards per game in 2020. According to analytics site Pro Football Focus, he was penalized just twice throughout the season. He was assessed with allowing four sacks of rookie quarterback Justin Herbert while playing each game at center.
Feeney spent 2021 and 2022 with the Jets, playing in 33 games (seven starts).
Prior to his NFL career, Feeney played four seasons for Indiana University. He was a two-time team captain and became just the fourth player in school history to earn First-Team All-America honors twice – and just the third to earn First-Team honors in back-to-back seasons (2015-16).
Feeney started the first 41 games of his collegiate career at right guard and transitioned to right tackle for the final five. He allowed just two sacks over 3,355 snaps in those games.
