ATHENS, Ga. — The No. 4 Georgia women’s tennis team is set to wrap up its last road weekend of the regular season as it will face No. 23 Alabama on Friday, March 29 at 6 p.m. ET in Tuscaloosa, Ala., followed by No. 16 Auburn on Sunday, March 31 at 1 p.m. ET in Auburn, Ala.
The Bulldogs (12-3, 7-0 SEC) have won 10-straight matches dating back to early February at the ITA DI Women’s National Team Indoor Championships.
Georgia will see two opponents currently sitting in the top five spots of the Southeastern Conference standings as Alabama (14-4, 5-3 SEC) slots in at fifth while Auburn (12-7, 6-2 SEC) lands in fourth.
The Bulldogs lead the all-time series against the Crimson Tide 46-5, winning six of the last seven meetings. After opening SEC play 4-0, Alabama is 1-3 in their last four matches coming off a split weekend with a 4-0 sweep of Mississippi State followed by a 4-2 loss at Ole Miss.
As for Sunday’s matchup, Georgia leads the all-time series against Auburn 58-8, winning 16 of the last 19 meetings against the Tigers. Auburn is 2-2 in its last four with wins against Ole Miss and Mississippi State last weekend after its own 4-0 start to conference play.
The Bulldogs will look to remain undefeated in SEC play and go perfect in the month of March before wrapping up its last four regular season matches at home.
