Making Monsters: Florida State players the Bears could draft at 9 and beyond
On her latest Making Monsters, Taylor Doll chats with Tony Wiggins, host of the Locked On Jags podcast, who also covers the Florida State Seminoles. They discuss defensive end Jared Verse, wideout Keon Coleman, and some other potential Seminoles from the 2024 draft that the Chicago Bears could select.
Verse is an edge with many attributes the Bears like, and Wiggins explained that he’s good against the run and can move around the line to rush the passer from different angles.
“Too many times we see young guys when they get into the NFL, they got that one little signature move, and then once it’s thwarted, they’re just like — okay, what do I do now? No, he (Verse) keeps fighting, and he keeps going and he keeps clawing. And that’s why they talk about his motor so much.”
Sounds like a guy who would fit the H.I.T.S. principle.
“Because even if the initial move doesn’t work, he has another one, and then he’ll have another one. So it’s not gonna be like he’s gonna let offensive linemen off the hook. After they stop him on that first move, he’s gonna learn, and he’s gonna be one of those dudes that actually plays the game a little bit older than his mind.”
