Wild Proposed NFL Trade Sends Lions a $212 Million Bowl for Jared Goff…

The Detroit Lions made the right decision recently this offseason to sign Pro Bowl quarterback Jared Goff to a long-term contract extension.

Goff recently spoke with the Detroit media about the deal, and he went into what the most important aspects were for him within the contract.

“It was mostly security. I think you can go back and forth on the numbers and whatnot, and that wasn’t really the thing that was ever something I was extremely concerned with…It was the security and the no-trade clause,” Goff stated

The franchise made the smart call to lock up the former No. 1 overall pick for the foreseeable future.

Ever since coming over to Detroit in the trade that sent franchise legend Matthew Stafford to the eventual Super Bowl-champion Rams, Goff has made himself and this Lions team one of the best in the league.

After a tough 3-13-1 season in 2021, the Lions, thanks in large part to Goff, started to turn the ship around.

They finished with a winning record at 9-8 for the first time since 2017.

Last season, they took an even greater step as they went 12-5, won the NFC North for the first time, and made it all the way to the NFC Championship Game.
