Miami Dolphins Top Player rejected $88.9 million offer from the…see more…
The Miami Dolphins were back on the practice field after taking Wednesday off, and with another practice comes another opportunity for a member of our beloved South Florida franchise to be recognized for their exemplary practice the day prior by receiving the Orange Jersey Award.
Today’s recipient was offensive lineman Austin Jackson!
Jackson struggled his first two years in the league and then was injured for most of his third season. However, with the help of new offensive line coach Butch Barry, 2023 was a breakout year for the young lineman — and as a result, he was rewarded with a brand new contract. That deal ties Jackson to the Dolphins through the end of the 2026 season at an average of $12 million per year.
Austin Jackson becomes the first offensive player to receive the orange jersey award, after the first two recipients were linebacker David Long Jr. and cornerback Kader Kohou.
Hopefully Jackson can continue his upward trend and become one of the better offensive tackles in the National Football League. The Miami Dolphins would surely be grateful if that were to happen.
