Done Deal: San Francisco 49ers Sign a new Head coach from Green Bay Packers…
It’s a given that the Green Bay Packers need quarterback Jordan Love to shine if they hope to make a run at their first Super Bowl in 14 years.
The same goes for high-priced standouts such as safety Xavier McKinney, defensive tackle Kenny Clark and defensive end Rashan Gary.
What could eventually determine the Packers’ fate is how a handful of players bounce back from injury or down years. Here’s a look at four players at a career crossroads that the Packers are hoping will produce big seasons.
Alexander was widely regarded as one of the NFL’s top cornerbacks just a couple years back. Green Bay rewarded him as such with a four-year, $84 million contract that made him the NFL’s highest paid corner.
Injuries and inconsistent play have hurt both Alexander and the Packers, though.
The diminutive Alexander (5-10, 196) played just four games in 2021 due to a shoulder injury. Alexander played just seven games in 2023 due to back and shoulder injuries and was also suspended a game for conduct detrimental to the team.
