Done Deal: The Florida state has finally won the race by signing an incredible star that worth $72.1 million….
Florida State football is trying to generate momentum on the recruiting trail as the Seminoles rank outside the top 40 in the 2025 cycle. The Seminoles have not secured a prospect in their class since four-star defensive end Javion Hilson flipped from Alabama to Florida State in January.
Fans are starting to worry because the expectations at Florida State in a lot higher. However, the program has won 23 of its 27 games over the past two seasons and players are getting developed into the professional ranks.
Overall, it is only May and the coaching staff is still rounding out their recruiting board. I won’t sit here and sugarcoat recruiting to say that it is in a great position. There were certain prospects such as five-star safety Darrell “Duke” Johnson from Dodge County High School in Eastman, Georgia who the Seminoles were leading for a while and then he committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide.
However, it is important to note that recruiting is ever-changing and it involves teenagers making one of the most difficult decisions in their lifetimes. The coaching staff is constantly adding talent to its target board and will be hosting several highly-touted prospects on campus this summer.
The June 21st weekend will be time to circle for Seminole fans as over twenty prospects will be on campus. Overall, the coaching staff wants to get some fireworks in recruiting for the end of June.
It is noteworthy to suggest that the Seminoles also value getting veteran transfers via the portal to fill some of its needs on the roster. I do not believe that Florida State is aiming to get a top-three recruiting class every year since they value having a good combination of transfers and recruits.
This is not to say that they can never secure a top-three recruiting class. However, the coaching staff want the right fit for the university when it comes to prospects deciding where they want to go to school. The real question remains: Can the Seminoles finish in the top-ten of recruiting?
I believe that they can most certainly do that if they have a recruiting class with Tramell Jones Jr., Byron Louis, Daylan McCutcheon, Joshua Moore, Hollis Davidson, Solomon Thomas, Ziyare Addison, Peyton Joseph, Josh Petty, Javion Hilson, Zion Grady, Myron Charles, Kevin Wynn, Ethan Pritchard, Tavion Wallace, Michael Hastie, Gregory Thomas, Max Redmon, and Jett White.
