Minnesota Twins Sign a new Head coach from Baltimore Orioles…

Things have been a little all over the place for the Minnesota Twins this year, from a pair of losing streaks to a 12-game winning streak that established some immaculate vibes. Minnesota lost a key player in Royce Lewis but picked up a ‘substantial’ rally sausage — it’s been that kind of season so far.

Unfortunately one of the early common threads seems to be injuries.

Lewis was lost to a quad injury just three innings into Opening Day and remains out for an indefinite amount of time. Carlos Correa, Max Kepler, Jhoan Duran, and Byron Buxton all joined him on the IL at some point with Justin Topa suffering a setback that will keep him out even longer.

The injury bug chewed deeper than just the MLB roster. Brooks Lee could have replaced Lewis if it weren’t for a herniated disc, and top prospect Walker Jenkins left in the first inning of his season debut after coming up limping following a leaping catch at the outfield wall. Even Emmanuel Rodriguez has missed time already, but much like him the bounceback for both Lee and Jenkins is already starting to look glorious.

Brooks Lee and Walker Jenkins shine in rehab assignments for Twins
Minnesota is slowly climbing out of a seven-game losing streak with convincing back-to-back wins over Washington, but the good vibes don’t end there.

In a potential glimpse into Minnesota’s future, Lee and Jenkins were in the same lineup on Thursday down in the Florida Complex League on rehab assignments. It’s a small sample size but the two turned in phenomenal performances that give Twins fans another reason to keep smiling.

Jenkins drove in three of the four Twins’ runs, going 2 for 3 with a double, a triple, a walk and the three RBI. Meanwhile, Lee went 2 for 4 with a single and a double to add even more icing onto the cake in a 4-2 victory.

The win is beside the point, as the progress that Jenkins and Lee are making is excatly the thing to keep the good vibes going at all levels for the Twins. Lee, specifically, is someone to watch as he remains on a timeline to make his MLB debut before Lewis returns from injury.

All signs point toward Lewis returning before the All-Star Break but he hasn’t yet started a rehab assignment. Friday is going to be a big day for determining just how far along his recovery is, and it will adjacently impact Lee and how he fits into the plan over th enext few months.
