Bobby Witt Jr is not only continuing his MLB duties, but also taking reps as a slot wide receiver. Here’s the latest on his offseason…

We were expecting Joe Musgrove to start today but the Padres announced Randy Vasquez will instead be getting the call. Musgrove had already been on the IL this season with right elbow inflammation and it appears he’s experiencing some of that again.

Musgrove came off the IL on May 21 and made just two starts. In his last outing against the Yankees, he allowed just 1 ER in 5.1 IP.

Now without Musgrove, Vasquez is going to come into the spotlight after being sent down earlier this season. He allowed eight runs combined in his final two outings at the big league level in May. The former Yankee pitched once in El Paso after getting optioned (May 26).

Yu Darvish is also headed to the IL after leaving his last start early with a hamstring issue. He went four starts not allowing a run before allowing nine in his last two.
