West Bromwich explains why he terminated his contract today…

Eight youngsters have left Aston Villa following the end of the season after the Premier League confirmed all of its clubs’ released lists.

Among them are Chisom Afoka, who swapped West Bromwich Albion for Villa in 2020. The 20-year-old started last season on loan at Bradford City, but only made two League Two appearances before returning to Villa in January.

Frankie Ealing has also left the club after making three EFL Trophy appearances last term, as well as nine in the Premier League 2. The defender joined the club at the age of six and penned a scholarship in December 2019 before he signed a professional contract with the club in July 2022.

Taylor-Jay Hart is also set to find a new club. The creative midfielder signed on as a scholar in July 2020 and penned a professional contract with the club in July 2022.

Aaron O’Reilly joined Villa in July 2020, completing a move from St Patrick’s Athletic in his native Republic of Ireland. But he is now to depart a year after signing an extension.
