Minnesota Timberwolves Coach Chris Finch Just Announce The Return of …see more …

After leaving the Denver Nuggets for Minnesota on a lucrative five-year, $40 million dollar deal in May of 2022, Connelly has been masterful in his transactions over the last two seasons. His biggest move was obviously the Rudy Gobert trade back in July of 2022 but he has made many other deals that have helped launch the Wolves to the top of the Western Conference and into title contention. He signed Kyle Anderson for the MLE, traded D’Angelo Russell for Mike Conley, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and three second-round picks (enabling a trade up for Leonard Miller) and orchestrated multiple new bargain contracts for Naz Reid, Conley and NAW. Not to mention that he signed both Anthony Edwards and Jaden McDaniels to long-term extensions, too.

Some doubt surfaced during the end of the regular season around Connelly when Charania reported that the Wolves GM could opt-out of his contract after the 2023-24 season. With the ownership situation unclear and many other teams clamoring for his services it became a real possibility that Connelly would decide to find a different opportunity.
