Los Angeles Rams key player Stetson Bennett has terminated his contract that worth $76.2 million with…
Stetson Bennett has been a hot topic of discussion for Los Angeles Rams and Georgia Bulldogs fans alike. After being drafted by the Rams in the 4th round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Bennett stepped away from the team for personal reasons.
We now know that those personal reasons had to do with mental health and the need for a break to rest and reset.
Well, Stetson Bennett is now back with the team and has been participating in the team’s offseason activities. As it stands, he is slated as the team’s 3rd string QB behind newly signed Jimmy Garoppolo. However, with Garoppolo sidelined for the first two games due to suspension, the expectation is that Bennett will be the Ram’s backup for those games.
So what can we take from all this? Well, in reality, not much. The simple fact is that Bennett is with the team practicing and improving. Whether he is ready for any type of game action will be unknown until the preseason rolls around.
Regardless, the cult-like icon that is Stetson Bennett will continue to be at the forefront of discussion, whether he has much of a role with the team or not. And the fact remains, if Matthew Stafford goes down due to injury, the Rams will be in a tough spot to make a run regardless of who else is under center.
