The 25-year-old superstar of the Braves is expected to sign a big free agent contract…
According to the club’s transactions log, the Atlanta Braves have made a notable free agent signing by inking veteran relief pitcher Matt Carasiti to a minor league deal on June 14.
Carasiti, a 32-year-old right-handed pitcher, was recently DFA’d by the Colorado Rockies earlier this month and elected free agency back on June 10.
A former sixth-round pick from the 2012 MLB Draft, Carasiti joins the Braves organization as a player with a notable amount of major league experience.
Since making his MLB debut in 2016, Carasiti has seen action in four different seasons (2016, 2019, 2023, 2024), and has appeared in 53 career games in the major leagues, five of which came as a starter in 2019 with the Seattle Mariners. Across those overall 58.1 innings pitched at the major league level, Carasiti has struggled at times, owning a career 2-2 record with a 7.41 ERA and 50:30 K/BB ratio.
