Philadelphia 76ers submit $130 million bid for Chicago Bulls ace Superstar as $35.3 million transfer news…
Alex Caruso was traded from the Chicago Bulls to the Oklahoma City Thunder last week and that had a big impact on both teams and their futures.
It also may have had an impact on other Bulls stars.
According to Michael Scotto, per Evan Sidery, the Philadelphia 76ers’ interest in acquiring Zach LaVine from the Bulls has “waned” since Caruso was traded.
Scotto reported that Philadelphia would have been open to taking on LaVine’s contract if Caruso had also been included in the deal.
But now that Caruso has moved to the Thunder, the Sixers are moving on too.
Chicago’s LaVine situation is a tricky one.
With a 2023–24 average of 19.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and a 45.2% field goal percentage, LaVine is clearly a talented star when he can stay healthy.
But he doesn’t just come with an extensive history of injuries; LaVine is also a very expensive player.
Few teams will want to sign him and take on his massive contract.
The 76ers had some interest but they wanted more than LaVine and when it became obvious that Caurso was off the table, they backed away from possibly pursuing this deal.
