Amakhosi are yet to start their recruitment process because of one main reason

Kaizer Chiefs’ ongoing search for a coach has put on hold the club’s transfer business.

Agent Mike Makaab has explained that Chiefs are currently not able to proceed with their transfer plans as they want the new coach to have an input on the outgoings and incomings in Naturena.

While revealing that he has been in contact with Amakhosi over a number of targets, Makaab said the delay in naming a new man in the dugout means he will have to wait until that is finalised before any business can be done.

“There are talks, I cannot tell which players but we are in talks relating to a few players and I will tell you where the difficulty lies, as I understand it,” Makaab told Gagasi FM as per KickOff.

‘Chiefs will have to settle their technical staff first’

“I think Chiefs will have to settle their technical staff first. It is very difficult to make decisions on your playing staff until you put your technical staff in place.

“I am sure Chiefs are going be announcing their technical staff going forward, soon or later. Once that happens, then we will move forward.”

Chiefs are among the teams set to be busy in the transfer market following their disappointing 10th place finish in the PSL with the club looking to strengthen in all areas.

Tunisian tactician Nasreddine Nabi is the top target

There are players also coming to the end of their contracts such as Keegan Dolly whose future the club needs to sort out quickly while some, such as Ashley du Preez, are attracting interest from Europe.
