David Moyes was captured crying after been sack today…

From whatever angle you look at it, Michail Antonio is a club legend. He’s got the longevity, he’s got the records and, unlike some of West Ham’s most iconic players, he’s got a trophy to his name.

However, all good things must come to an end and the Jamaica international’s career is certainly nearing its end. Although he may not be a regular starter going forward due to his fitness levels, there is no doubt that he will still play a massive role as a squad player and an impact sub under Julen Lopetegui.

With just a year remaining on his contract, there is a dilemma about whether it’s best to cash in rather than lose him on a free. As with most of their players, you’d assume that if the right bid comes in for him they’ll be willing to sell. Well, while West Ham have received an offer, according to Sky Sports, it’s certainly not acceptable in any way.

They claim that Brazilian side Gremio have submitted a 6-figure-bid for the Hammers’ Premier League record goalscorer. Obviously he’s getting old and he’s not the player he once was but it’s an utterly disrespectful amount of money to offer. Frankly, it’s baffling as to why they would even attempt to acquire his services for so little – they must have known it would be rejected.

Either way, it doesn’t seem like our Irons have any intention of letting Antonio go this Summer. He is clearly garnering interest though, so who knows what will happen. As it stands, the club hasn’t signed a striker to replace him so, no matter what, they can’t let him go until they have.
