Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is keen on Burnley defender Dara O’Shea and has reached out to the Clarets to discuss a potential summer move for the Republic of Ireland international

Celtic are eyeing a summer swoop for former West Brom defender Dara O’Shea. The Scottish champions have expressed interest in the Republic of Ireland international and have approached Burnley, but the move remains uncertain.

Brendan Rodgers is keen to bolster his squad with quality players like O’Shea to make an impact in the Champions League. However, it would require a significant offer for Burnley to consider selling O’Shea, who they purchased for £7 million from Albion last year.

A source from Burnley has informed Record Sport that O’Shea is a key player for their club. They also mentioned that any decision regarding Celtic’s approach would likely be postponed until a new manager or head coach is appointed at Burnley.

The club has been searching for a new leader since Vincent Kompany left for Bayern Munich and is currently in the recruitment process.
