World best player Joins Philadelphia Phillies In MLB 3-Team Blockbuster Trade…

The Philadelphia Phillies (54-29) will look for more offense when they close out their series against the Miami Marlins (30-53) at Citizens Bank Park on Sunday afternoon. After dropping two of three, the home team hopes to salvage a series split before heading out on a six-game road trip.

After the bats were bailed out by Cristopher Sánchez’s complete-game shutout on Friday night, the lineup couldn’t muster enough to overcome the Marlins’ three runs on Saturday. The Phils managed just five hits and struck out 10 times in the 3-2 loss. Garrett Stubbs chipped in with a solo home run, but the Phillies need the top of the order to step up today.

Aaron Nola took his fourth loss of the season after pitching 6 2/3 innings, charged with three runs on six hits while striking out nine. Matt Strahm allowed the winning run to score when he came on in relief in the seventh.

The Phillies’ depth is being tested without Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber and J.T. Realmuto, and so far, the early returns aren’t encouraging.
