3 way too early trade deadline moves the Atlanta Braves can make in the 2024 season…
Three Atlanta Braves players have been named to this year’s MLB All-Star Game.
Chris Sale, Reynaldo López and Marcell Ozuna were selected as reserves for the July 16 game, the Braves announced Sunday evening. Sale and López will join the National League’s pitching staff. Ozuna was named a designated hitter.
“Our reps in Arlington!” the Braves posted on X. “Congrats to Reynaldo, Marcell, and Chris for their selections to the 2024 All-Star Game.”
Sale earned his eighth All-Star selection, the first for the 36-year-old left-hander since his seven straight from 2012-18. The gap is the longest for an All-Star since Albert Pujols earned his 11th trip for his final season in 2022, his first since 2015.
“It is definitely satisfying. I appreciate it for sure,” said Sale, acquired by the Braves from Boston in December. “They took a chance and I’m happy to be able to do this for them.”
This year will be Ozuna’s third All-Star appearance and López’s first.
Last year, the Braves had eight players selected to the All-Star Game, the most by any Braves team since the franchise moved to Atlanta.
