Julen Lopetegui could leave West Ham after huge development – fans react…
According to a journalist, West Ham United are very close to signing their third player of the summer transfer window.
The Hammers have made a positive start to the window having already signed Luis Guilherme and Max Kilman.
Now, Julen Lopetegui is in the market for a centre-forward as he continues to reshape the squad David Moyes left him.
In fact, it’s understood that a deal is very close to being completed.
According to Sky journalist Manuele Baiocchini, West Ham United are very close to signing Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran.
“The player is talking to West Ham and also seemed to be very close to the Hammers, but we had an indiscretion about AC Milan, who might reconsider,” Baiocchini said, via Radio Rossonera.
He adds that AC Milan are still keeping tabs on his situation as they weigh up making an offer for the ‘special’ striker.
Duran has been of interest to Chelsea in recent weeks, too, but it seems West Ham have stolen a march on his signature.
Aston Villa reportedly set the asking price at £40m for Duran, though, it emerged that West Ham were reluctant to meet that.
At this stage, there has been no confirmation on how much they’ve agreed to pay, but it’s likely to be around the £30m mark.
Duran’s game time at Villa has been limited but in the short cameos he’s had, the 20-year-old looks very promising.
