2nd-year playmaker says Vikings’ ‘explosive’ offense is being slept on…
Getting arrested and being charged with driving under the influence tends to be a pretty good excuse to take a moment to reconsider your relationship with alcohol, but it doesn’t seem like Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison felt the urge to do a ton of soul-searching based on a photo he shared less than two days after ending up in jail.
It didn’t take very long for Jordan Addison to find himself in some hot water after the Minnesota Vikings selected him with the 23rd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Last July, the USC product was pinched for driving 140 MPH in a 55 MPH zone and was charged with speeding and reckless driving. He ultimately struck a deal that required him to plead guilty to the first charge while having the second dropped, and neither the Vikings nor the NFL opted to dole out any additional discipline on top of the $686 fine he had to pay.
That incident transpired almost exactly a year before Addison once again found himself making headlines for all of the wrong reasons.
On Friday night, a police officer in West Los Angeles approached a Rolls Royce that was blocking a lane of traffic and allegedly discovered Addison asleep behind the wheel. While details remain scarce, ESPN reports he was taken to jail due to the belief he was intoxicated at the time before being released two hours after he was brought in.
That incident transpired a week after 2024 Vikings draft pick Khyree Jackson was killed in a car crash where alcohol was believed to be a contributing factor, and while there’s never a good time to drive drunk, purportedly doing so less than seven days after someone’s decision to do exactly that may have claimed the life of one of your teammates isn’t a great look.
