Minnesota Twins ink Carlos Correa to a one-year deal, two-way deal…

For the third time in his career Carlos Correa was lined up along the first base path as the MLB All-Star Game introductions were being made.

It was the first time he was at the midsummer classic representing the Minnesota Twins, and his first time back since 2021. He didn’t play, thanks to a case of plantar fasciitis flaring up on him in the days leading up to the All-Star break, but he was still in Arlington to be part of the festivies.

He heard some all too familiar — and cliche — sounds while he was there.

As the American League roster was being introduced, Correa was showered with boos from fans still upset over his role in the Houston Astros cheating scandal. Fans have a right to be angry over what happened, but it’s clear that Correa has moved past it and has learned to take the hate in stride.

As boos rained down on him from the sold out crowd at Globe Life, Correa simply smiled and had a perfect one-liner response.

At this point Correa is doing all he can do — smile and laugh.

Twins fans are caught in a weird spot, as Correa may or may not have cheated before he came to Minnesota so the team has nothing to defend when it comes to his role in the scandal. Then again, Correa has become a pillar of the franchise and is going to go down as one of the greatest players in the organization’s history when all is said and done.
