GUATEMALA, Guyana Authorities in Guyana, a South American nation, announced on Sunday that they had discovered more than 8,000 pounds (3,600 kilograms) of cocaine hidden in a verdant jungle close to the Venezuelan border.

According to Security Minister Robeson Benn, who told reporters that he believes the drugs are worth at least $200 million, the land seizure is the largest in recent memory.

According to authorities, the drugs were discovered in clay pits in the northwest of Guyana. Authorities say they are searching for two other suspects who fled the area after they apprehended one.

The operation involved the participation of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the police, and the military of Guyana.

Benn remarked, “We are glad the DEA is here to share information and intelligence with us.” The victim of this illicit conduct is Guyana. Cocaine is not something we make or transport.

The substances were taken from a location where police had previously discovered homemade submersible boats concealed in the undergrowth. Although it’s unclear if any of those vessels were really used, officials promised to increase monitoring in that area.
