Never in my years of photographing the aurora did I think I’d witness such a breathtaking display over Lundbreck, especially from the North Side viewpoint. As I stood there, the sky transformed into a canvas of vibrant greens and purples, swirling and dancing in a way that felt almost surreal.

The crisp air was filled with a sense of anticipation, and I could hardly believe my luck as the first tendrils of light began to emerge. With each passing moment, the auroras grew more intense, illuminating the landscape below and reflecting off the nearby river. It was a sight that took my breath away, a reminder of nature’s incredible beauty and power.

I set up my camera, heart racing, eager to capture every nuance of this ephemeral phenomenon. The low rumble of distant thunder added an otherworldly soundtrack, enhancing the experience. As I clicked the shutter, I felt a deep connection to the earth and sky, a sense of belonging to something much larger than myself.

The North Side viewpoint offered a perfect perspective, framing the aurora against the rugged backdrop of the Rockies. It was a moment of pure magic, one I had only dreamed of during countless nights spent chasing the northern lights. Each shot I took felt like a treasure, a glimpse into a world that few get to experience firsthand.

As the display began to fade, I felt a profound gratitude for the opportunity to witness such beauty. This night in Lundbreck will remain etched in my memory, a testament to the incredible wonders our planet has to offer. I left with my heart full, knowing that I had captured something truly special.
