Jordan Brand posted a photo of a crumpled up letter to Instagram Friday that suggests the return of the Air Jordan 1 High “Banned,” aka “Bred.” Bits and pieces of the letter that can be read match that of the one sent from the NBA to Nike in 1985 informing the company that his black and red sneakers didn’t conform to the league’s uniform regulations. The date of that letter is February 25, 1985 — and the Air Jordan 1 “Banned” is widely expected to release in February 2025 for the shoe’s 40th anniversary.
