This Is Why Miley Cyrus Said She Would Miss the VMAs This Year……

Oh, that? Nothing much, just the sound of Smilers legit everywhere screaming, crying, and/or throwing up because Hannah Montana Miley Cyrus sadly didn’t make it to this year’s VMAs.

And tbh, it makes all the sense in the world why all of us were low-key bummed out about the singer’s absence. After all, she (1) is Miley Cyrus, and (2) delivered one of our absolute fave awards show performances at the 2024 Grammys that we’re still obsessing over. Actually, lemme just:

Anyway! Unclear why our iconic ball-wrecking musician didn’t show up to this year’s VMAs, but maybe it has to do with her being in love and in her ~nesting era~. After all, back in February 2024, a source told People that Miley and her boyfriend, fellow musician Maxx Morando, had made things official official by moving in together!

“She is very happy with him,” the insider said at the time. “Miley has changed a lot in the past couple of years. She seems more calm and harmonious. Everyone loves Maxx. He’s a great guy. She is very happy with him. He’s private and doesn’t like being in the press. It’s been good for her.”

Oh, and according to a chatty source who spoke with Us Weekly just yesterday (!!!), Miley’s mom Tish Cyrus “adores [Maxx] and thinks they complement each other perfectly.” The insider *also* noted that while the couple’s connection continues to be on the up and up, marriage isn’t “on their radar” at the moment. Ahem: “Miley is fully content with where her life is. She’s in love with Maxx and feels so fulfilled with her family and career.”

That! Said!!! Miley remains a “hopeless romantic,” and the two are continuing to make the most of their time together. “They are loving their life in Malibu and have grown even closer since moving in together [earlier] this year,” the person close to the sitch dished, adding that the musicians “are doing amazing and are more in love than ever.” S’cute!
