Business tycoon Mark Cuban has shared an old video of Donald Trump offering an incorrect answer to 17 times six, criticizing the Republican presidential nominee for having “stuck with his wrong answer” even after being told it was incorrect.

The clip came from a 2006 episode of The Howard Stern Show, which had the Apprentice star and two of his children, Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump, on as guests. Mother Jones, a nonprofit magazine, posted the video on YouTube in June 2016, a few months before Donald Trump was elected to the White House.

The former president is hoping to secure a second term in November, having been selected as the 2024 Republican presidential candidate. He received a boost when a recent Trafalgar Group poll put him ahead of his Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, in five key swing states, with the pair tied in another two.

On Sunday, Cuban shared a link to the Mother Jones clip on X, formerly Twitter, writing the video’s title in the caption, “The Trump Files: Watch The Trumps Not Be Able To Multiply 17 By 6.

In the video, Donald Trump Jr. told host Howard Stern that his father “couldn’t buy our way in even if he wanted to,” referring to the Wharton School, the University of Pennsylvania business school that all three Trumps attended.

In response, Stern said, “I’m going to ask you a tough question, Wharton School of business, what’s 17 times six?”

After Donald Trump Jr. incorrectly answered 96 then 94, Stern directed the question to Ivanka Trump.

Donald Trump then interrupted, saying, “It’s 112. It’s 112,” to which Stern replied, “Wrong!”

When Donald Trump repeated the answer as Stern did some mental calculations, and another person in the room said the answer was 112, the host changed his mind. Addressing the patriarch, he said: “Look at you, you genius. But the kids didn’t know. That’s why you’re dad.”

Donald Trump replied, “That’s why I’m dad.” Another man in the studio then said the correct answer: 102. After he explained how he arrived at the answer, Stern changed his mind again, saying: “Donald, you’re wrong. Donald Jr., you’re wrong. Ivanka, you’re wrong.”

Cuban’s X post has received 1.2 million views on the platform. In a second X post, he added: “The crazy thing isn’t that he got it wrong. That’s human.

“The crazy thing is that he stuck with his wrong answer, even after being told by multiple people, who had checked the answer, that it was wrong.”

Newsweek contacted Donald Trump’s spokespersons for comment by email outside regular business hours.

Cuban’s post was not the only mocking the former president received over the weekend. Social media users ridiculed Donald Trump after he said Harris’ treatment of Mike Pence, his former vice president, was horrible.

Speaking to Fox News’ Mark Levin, the former president said: “Now, they have Kamala, who has many deficiencies, but she’s a nasty person.

“The way she treated Mike Pence was horrible. The way she treats people is horrible.”

Social media users pointed out that Donald Trump had been sharply critical of Pence after his vice president, as presiding officer of the Senate, certified Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential election victory. On January 6, 2021, members of a pro-Trump mob stormed Congress trying to prevent the election result from being certified, chanting “hang Mike Pence.”

On Sunday, Cuban conducted a poll on X between Donald Trump and Harris, asking, “Who’s persona and character would you like to see young children grow up to have?” In response, 68.9 percent said Donald Trump against 31.1 percent for Harris.
