The Milwaukee Bucks got absolutely pummeled last night in San Francisco, as the Golden State Warriors showed no remorse in blowing out the Bucks 125-90. While stars Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard did their usual thing, it was the other guys surrounding the dynamic duo that viably struggled. The Bucks were again without Khris Middleton, who’s been dealing with a left ankle sprain. This loss to the Warriors stops the Milwaukee Bucks’ six-game winning streak which sets them at 41-22, second in the Eastern Conference by a game over the third-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers.
As for the Warriors, Stephen Curry moved up on the charts, as he passed Baron Davis for the 40th most assists in NBA history. After losing their past two games, and being torched by the Celtics in their last game, the Warriors needed this game to keep themselves afloat within the Western Conference playoff race. Golden State is 32-28 after this win, holding the tenth and final Play-In Tournament spot. The last time these two teams played, the Bucks got the home win 129-118, with Antetokounmpo, and Lillard combining for 51 points.
Playing with a healthy collection for the first time in months, Kerr emptied his bench. Of the 15 Golden State players who got time against Milwaukee, 12 scored at least three points. Five reached double figures, while nine made at least one 3-pointer.
That type of collective effort was huge against the Bucks and will be equally important as the Warriors head down the stretch jockeying for position in the Western Conference.
