A Pair of Bulldogs Named 2nd Team All-SEC
STARKVILLE, Miss – The Mississippi State Bulldogs have a pair of second-team selections on the All-SEC women’s team. Jessika Carter and Jerkaila Jordan are both veterans of the MSU program and have the Bulldogs on the edge of back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances. Both players have been with MSU through bad times and good times. Carter signed with MSU out of high school, and the Georgia native had a lot of hype due to her 6-5 frame. Carter has delivered on the hype, especially this year, as the senior is averaging 14.8 points and 10.2 rebounds a game. Carter shows a rare ability to take over games inside, and she showed that this season in the Bulldogs’ 66-63 win at Arkansas.

Carter put up 22 points and grabbed 19 rebounds. She and Jordan make for quite the duo, and if the Bulldogs make a run in March, they will be why. Jordan came to Mississippi State via the transfer portal as the Louisiana native transferred from Tulane. Since then, Jordan has been a very consistent player for MSU, whether on defense or offense. The 5-9 guard is averaging 16 points a game and six rebounds, which is an impressive number for a guard. Much is made of Jordan’s offensive game, as it should be, but she is also averaging a pair of steals a game. Like Carter, Jordan can take over a game in a heartbeat, and that was on full display in potentially her last game at Humphrey Coliseum.
