O’Sullivan then went on to thank the Saudi Arabian crowds for how they embraced him whilst he was competing, whilst also praising the snooker initiatives that are beginning to grow in the country. Snooker star Ronnie O’Sullivan believes that there could be a Saudi Arabian world champion in the future if the sport continues to grow in the country. The Brit has heaped the praise on the Middle Eastern nation since winning the inaugural Riyadh Season World Masters of Snooker earlier this week.

The Rocket was in impressive form in Saudi, cruising to a 4-1 victory over Judd Trump in the semifinals before coming from behind to secure a 5-2 win over Luca Brecel in the final.

They’re putting on some fantastic events over here, so just to be a part of it was great. But to win it is like the icing on the cake. I played really well against John [Higgins], that’s probably one of my best performances. I struggled a bit against Judd, I didn’t find my timing and stuff like that. But then I played a bit better today in the final, so hopefully there’s a bit of some form coming back.
