BREAKING NEWS: Formerly Celtic Jayson Tatum Gets a Serious Message from Dennis Schröder.
After the Boston Celtics defeated the Toronto Raptors in their season series on January 15, Dennis Schröder, a former teammate of Jayson Tatum’s, had a message for the former player.

Before the latter was traded, Tatum and Schröder were colleagues for the Celtics in the 2021–2022 campaign. Schröder has seemingly hinted that the two players are still friends and have been since their breakup, so it appears that there are no bitter feelings between them. Schröder makes it very evident in his message to Tatum that he thinks Tatum is among the top players in the NBA and that the Celtics can win a championship this year.
Throughout the 2023–24 season, the Raptors have not experienced the same good fortune as the Celtics. The Raptors lost, dropping them to 15–25 and the No. 12 seed in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics also swept them. If their season keeps going south, Schröder could not have a place on the squad in the long run.
Jayson Tatum Praises Dennis Schröder
After the Celtics win, Jayson Tatum praised Dennis Schröder as a person and as a player while reflecting on their time as teammates.
Tatum described Dalzell as a “great guy, great teammate, just super competitive.” As you spend more time with him, he will speak out if he notices something that bothers him. I was going to tell him if he did something I didn’t like. We kind of assumed that winning was all that we desired. We had difficult talks, but I gained a great deal of respect for him because, at his core, he is a winner. He is a really fierce rival.
Schröder played 49 games for the Celtics before Boston traded him to the Houston Rockets. The Celtics were 31-25 before they traded Schröder. After the trade, the Celtics won 20 of their last 26 games. Derrick White and Daniel Theis proved to be better fits around the team than Schröder did that season.
Jayson Tatum Singles Out Jabari Parker
Jayson Tatum also mentioned Jabari Parker, a former teammate of his who is currently playing overseas, at his news conference following the game.
During his post-game news conference, Jayson Tatum also brought up Jabari Parker, a former teammate who is currently playing abroad.
Tatum also discussed how Parker impacted him as a player when he started college.
I attended Duke because of him. I desired to resemble him. So you can imagine how much I adore him and am glad he’s performing well.
Between 2021 and 2022, Parker was a member of the Boston Celtics; however, he did not see much action during that time. Parker had a lot of NBA experience going into the league, but he was cut out of the game due to a series of ailments, including two ACL tears in the same knee. The last NBA franchise to hire him was the Celtics.
