Coventry haven’t had the season many would’ve hoped for after reaching the play-off final last season, with the West Midlands side now looking all but set to miss out on the top six.
However, one positive that fans can still draw upon this season is the fact they’ve managed to snap up Peterborough starlet Mason-Clark, and for a bargain price too, with City reportedly paying a fee in the region of £4.25 million, according to Coventry Telegraph’s article.
And with the 24-year-old producing a stunning assist, as well as a silky performance from the left-wing during the EFL’s midweek fixtures in League One, Coventry fans should start forgetting about their current disappointments and focus on what seems to be a bright attacking future.
Last Tuesday, Peterborough beat Fleetwood Town 4-1 at home to all but assure a second consecutive season in the League One play-offs.
Throughout the match, former Barnet man Mason-Clark was a thorn in the side of Fleetwood’s right-sided centre-half Shaun Rooney. The Posh’s method of attack for the night would regularly see Mason-Clark receive the ball just within the attacking half, before he was then afforded plenty of time and space to perform mazy runs filled with silky skills.

As mentioned in the introduction, Coventry secured the services of Mason-Clark for a little below £5 million. The deal was made in January but as part of the negotiations, Posh made sure to at least secure his services for the remainder of the season, on a temporary basis.
He has had a fantastic season so far, and had Coventry not secured his services, others from the Championship, and maybe even clubs in the Premiership or abroad could have come hunting for the winger.
