Tim Steiden – Director of Football at West Ham – is currently drawing up transfer plans for the summer window, with David Moyes unlikely to be involved amid reports the Glaswegian will leave the London Stadium.
As the Hammers identify targets, one player – who Tottenham offloaded in 2023 – is now on the radar of West Ham…
Well – according to Turkish news outlet Dirilis Postasi– West Ham want to sign Davinson Sanchez this summer.
It is said that Galatasaray will demand €25m (£21m) for the Colombia international – who they signed from Spurs for just €9.5m (£8m) back in September 2023.
However, Dirilis Postasi mention that the Turkish giants would settle for a sum of €22m (£19m) to sell Sanchez, who has made 30 appearances in all competitions this season – scoring three goals while also providing two assists.
If West Ham do secure a deal for the South American, he surely wouldn’t need much time to settle in.
Sanchez spent six years in north London from 2017 to 2023 – making 207 appearances in total for Tottenham – so a potential move to east London should not be too much of a change for the Colombian.
The timing of Dirilis Postasi’s story is quite interesting, as Nayef Aguerd has apparently been put up for sale at West Ham – according to the Guardian.
Moyes has preferred to use Kurt Zouma, Angelo Ogbonna and Konstantinos Mavropanos in the heart of defence, so perhaps Sanchez is being lined up to replace the Morocco international – if a buyer can be found this summer.
