Tennessee Titans to hire Cincinnati Bengals’ offensive coordinator Brian Callahan as head coach
NEW DELHI: The Tennessee Titans are on the verge of naming Brian Callahan, the current offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals, as their new head coach, according to reports from ESPN and NFL Network on Monday. The 39-year-old Callahan has been overseeing the Bengals’ offensive unit since 2019 under head coach Zac Taylor.
Callahan had a second interview with the Titans on Monday, marking a significant step in the hiring process as the team looks to fill the void left by the departure of Mike Vrabel, who parted ways with the Titans after a disappointing 6-11 season in 2023.
During Callahan’s tenure with the Bengals, the team’s offense achieved notable success. In 2022, Cincinnati ranked eighth in total offense, averaging 360.5 yards per game, and seventh in scoring offense with an average of 26.1 points per game. However, the Bengals faced challenges in 2023, particularly with quarterback Joe Burrow’s season-ending wrist injury in November.
