Third-round selection of the Chicago Bears. Kiran Amegadjie Executes a Contract…
Kiran Amegadjie, the Chicago Bears’ 2024 third round draft pick, has signed his first NFL contract.
According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC Houston, who first reported the news, Amegadjie’s deal is for $5.914 million. That number includes a $1.121 million signing bonus, plus $50,000 workout bonus annually from 2025 to 2027. The Bears later announced the signing, which is reportedly a four-year contract.
Amegadjie missed Bears rookie minicamp last week due to a quad injury. He previously required surgery on his quad last October, ending his season early.
A native of Hinsdale, Illinois, the Bears were able to select Amegadjie with the 75th overall selection in this year’s draft. The Yale offensive tackle played most of his collegiate snaps at left tackle, though he does have experience at guard as well (over 600 snaps in 2021). Amegadjie earned first-team FCS All-American honors twice and projects as a future starter in the league, though the Bears will be able to develop him while having Darnell Wright and Braxton Jones currently ahead of him on the tackle depth chart.
Amegadjie becomes the second member of this year’s Bears draft class to sign his rookie deal, following punter Tory Taylor late last week.
