Jannik Sinner has been dealing with a hip injury that has impacted his recent performances and participation in tournaments. He withdrew from the Italian Open and had to pull out of his quarterfinal match at the Madrid Open due to this injury.
Despite the physical challenges, Sinner has expressed a desire to participate in the French Open if his body permits, emphasizing the importance of being part of the event. However, he acknowledges that his physical condition is not 100%.
He revealed: “I decided to play because Roland Garros is a very important tournament,” said the 22-year-old South Tyrolean ace at a press conference ahead of his clash with 28-year-old Eubanks on Monday. It’s a slam and I want to be part of it if my body permits.
The condition is not 100% but we can’t do magic. The hip doesn’t worry me. I’m confident: I’ll get better and better. But even at the level of condition that I have now, I know I can play good tennis.”
