Completed Deal: A $66.7 million contract has been agreed to between the Miami Football and Dallas.
Since former Washington head football coach Kalen DeBoer has arrived in Tuscaloosa, Ala., he’s brought along many other Huskies staff members to help him with the Crimson Tide. This continued on Monday evening, as DeBoer and company are set to hire Washington defensive assistant William Inge for a similar position, per John Brice of Football Scoop.
Inge was hired by Washington as the co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach on Dec. 18, 2021. He reunited with Husky head coach Kalen DeBoer, having served as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Fresno State the previous two years. Inge helped pull the strings to one of the most exciting teams to watch on both sides of the field this past season and the Huskies’ run to the College Football National Championship is indicative of that.
Inge’s impact was apparent throughout his first season with Washington as well, as the defense went from No. 108 in rushing defense the year before to No. 25 in 2022. Cam Bright and Alphonzo Tuputala, two of Inge’s linebackers, were All-Pac-12 honorable mentions. At Fresno State in 2021, the Bulldogs ranked among the top 25 in the nation in scoring defense, tackles for loss, takeaways, fumble recoveries, third-down conversion defense, and fourth-down conversion defense. Nevertheless, Inge’s been coaching the football world for quite some time before Fresno State, Washington and now Alabama
