The Cleveland Browns will remain aggressive this offseason as the franchise looks to win and win in its current window of contention.

This probably means one way or another that the Browns will try to pair Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett with another quality defensive back. Jadeveon Clowney filled that role two years ago, while Za’Darius Smith was that guy last season. But Clowney is now with the division rival Baltimore Ravens, and Smith is set to hit free agency in March and turns 32 next season.

Instead of re-signing Smith, Cleveland probably has a better chance of going with a younger and potentially cheaper option at the position. One such player is Chase Young of the San Francisco 49ers, who will be playing in his first Super Bowl this weekend.

Cleveland.com’s Irie Harris named three free agents as the Browns’ most likely “low-risk, high-reward” targets in free agency on Tuesday, Feb. 6. The list started with Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins before handing over to two players who chose to go to the Super Bowl in San Francisco.“Other picks currently gearing up for Super Bowl LVIII with San Francisco: linebacker Randy Gregory and wide receiver Chase Young. Both are free agents after the big game, Harris wrote. – Injuries have limited Young since his 2020 Pro Bowl rookie season, but he’s been consistent since then, posting a career-high 7.5 sacks between the Washington and San Francisco games..
