Four big deals now in play for Parramatta Eels as club gets major transfer green…
Queensland assistant coach Josh Hannay confirmed he is still in the running for the vacant head coaching role at the Parramatta Eels.
Hannay emerged as a contender for the spot alongside Jason Ryles and Dean Young, who are currently signed with the Storm and Dragons respectively as assistants.
Ex-South Sydney coach Jason Demetriou has reportedly been overlooked for the role, while interim coach Trent Barrett remains unlikely to stay at the helm.
“To be really honest, there’s not a lot to say on the situation,” he said.
“I’ll catch up with them post-Origin. Given the schedule I’ve had the last month, it has been difficult to find the time. We’ll catch up after game two and see where it all lands.
“I think in my own mind, there’s no doubt about my readiness. I’ve stated that publicly, so we will see where it all lands. There’s not a lot from my end to tell, it’s an ongoing process and we’ll take a step forward after game two.”
Hannay played 153 NRL games at the Cronulla Sharks and the North Queensland Cowboys, including two matches in the Queensland jersey.
