Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill is considered by many to be one of if not the fastest player in the NFL after years of torching defenders every which way en route to his 10,139 career receiving yards in just eight seasons.
In what may come as a surprise to many, a former teammate of his with the Dolphins recently revealed that another receiver actually beat Hill in a race last season.
On the All Facts No Brakes podcast, former Dolphins receiver Robbie Chosen revealed that fellow wide receiver Jaylen Waddle beat Tyreek in a race last year.
To clarify the above tweet, Chosen said “I think he won, I don’t remember” about the race between the two, so it’s not exactly a glowing endorsement.
That being said, it’s not as if this would come as a shock given how fast Waddle is.
He didn’t participate in the 2021 NFL Combine, but Waddle’s 40-yard dash time was reported as 4.37, which is exceptional and comparable to Hill’s 4.29 that he ran during his Pro Day at West Alabama.
Hill’s 40-yard dash was also in 2016, so it’s possible he lost a split second now that he is 30 years old.
Overall, Miami likely has the fastest group of skill position players in all of football with these two plus running back De’Von Achane, who ran a 4.32 at his NFL Combine last year, as well as rookie RB, who ran a 4.38.
Maybe Waddle allegedly beating Tyreek in a race inspired him to post career highs with 119 catches for 1,799 yards last season.
