Los Angeles Rams Announce Pro Bowl Has Preseason Injury…
On just the second day of Los Angeles Rams training camp, newly re-acquired cornerback Darious Williams suffered a strained hamstring. This forced him to miss the remaining days of practice that week. On Saturday head coach Sean McVay gave an update, confirming the injury but not clarifying the timeline for Williams’ return. He said they would be taking it ‘a few days at a time.’
In the interim, the Rams have brought in former Detroit Lions cornerback Jerry Jacobs in the wake of William’s injury and Derion Kendrick’s torn ACL. This has created a need at the position, to ensure the others in the room don’t take on additional workload, thereby increasing their risk for injury.
Darious Williams is heading into his seventh season in the league and turned 31 years old earlier this year. Williams has not missed a game due to injury since 2021 when he missed three weeks due to an ankle injury.
Williams seemed to be the front-runner to earn the starting outside cornerback spot opposite Tre’Davious White.
